FAQs

quality painting servicesQ) What medias and finishes do you use?
A) With every different media comes a different finish. From very aggressive to mild. Every job is different and we will work with you to find the right solution to your specific needs. We keep in stock at all times aluminum oxide, coal slag, glass bead, plastic media, starblast, corncob, walnut shells, bar shot, and can work with you to find the right solution on any other job you may have. Just give us a call and we will answer your questions to the best of our ability. There is never a bad question or one solution to any problem. Our goal is to find the right solution for you.

Q) What is the finish on sandblasted wood?
A) Blasting wood raises the grain. Depending on what kind of wood and how tough the coating is depends on how much the grain is raised after blasting. A softer wood like pine or poplar will blast rougher but sand easier. A hard wood like oak or maple will blast with a smoother finish but sand harder. A painted wood will blast rougher than a stained or varnished piece. In the pictures catalogue we have tried to take some pictures of blasted wood to give you an idea on finish. But having it stripped will save hours of time trying to strip by hand. Generally speaking expect a medium sand to finish the surface before recoating.

Q) What kinds of painting solutions do you offer?
A) We offer a wide array of painting solutions in an industrial paint line to meet our customers’ needs. Gloss, semi- gloss and flat finishes. We work in a tough, durable, affordable industrial line. Also in epoxy's for the projects that need that extra durability. We can offer almost any color under the rainbow.

Q) What kind of jobs do you normally do?
A) Well there is no normal in our shop. If it needs to be cleaned we have seen it. Everything from leather fireman's helmets to shower stalls. To give an idea of common jobs though we often work on register covers, patio furniture, wood furniture, car frames, car shells, motorcycle frames, snow plows, dump trucks, trailers, gas pumps, tractor parts, farm equipment, industrial equipment, blasted signs, glass etching, frosting of acrylic and plastics. These are just a few ideas of the things we do on a day to day basis.

Q) I called but you didn't answer?
A) With the nature of our business we cannot always answer the phone but we are always in the shop from 9 am to 6 pm Mon-Fri. If you call or e-mail please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as humanly possible. Always feel free to stop by during business hours and someone will be there to help answer any questions you have.

Q) What are your capabilities?
A) Our booth is 23 ft. long with 10 ft. high doors and 10 ft. wide. Our tow motor is rated at 5000 lbs. As long as we can get it into the booth we can do the job. On some jobs such as trucks or trailers if it is a little over 23 ft. we can build tents to accommodate. It really just depends on the size.
